The Anglican Council in Malawi (ACM) is the umbrella body of the Anglican Church in Malawi, responsible for coordinating the spiritual, social, and developmental work of its four dioceses: Southern Malawi, Upper Shire, Lake Malawi, and Northern Malawi.
Rooted in the historic Anglican Communion, ACM upholds the Church’s biblical foundation, spiritual heritage, and commitment to service. It facilitates unity and shared mission across the dioceses, providing leadership, liturgical guidance, and support for clergy and laity. As a faith-based organization, ACM also plays a critical role in community development, poverty reduction, and the provision of social services to marginalized and vulnerable populations, regardless of religion, gender, or background.
With a mandate to coordinate evangelism, nurture partnerships, and promote good governance and stewardship, ACM is committed to building a dynamic and sustainable Anglican Church that responds to Malawi’s evolving social, economic, and environmental challenges. It works through both its church structures and social development programs to transform lives and communities through faith in action.
